Sometimes a child is removed from a home due to abuse and neglect. The first goal of the foster care system is to place that child back with the family again once it is safe for the child to return. But in many cases the child cannot ever go back home and is put back into the foster care program. Some children wait in foster care for their own family to be approved again and with others the parental rights are revoked and the child will never go back home and is up for domestic adoption.
There are currently 120,000 children and youth (domestic orphans) waiting to be adopted. They are in temporary homes, but they need parents and a permanent home to call their own. Children need permanancy, love and safety.
If you are interested in being a foster parent or adopting a waiting child from foster care please contact the Department of Social Services in your town to get started in making a positive impact in the life of a child today. You can start searching for children in the foster care system here at adoptuskids.org.
Another great organization that is called to provide foster care services to temporary orphans is 4kids of south florida. If you would like more information about 4kids go to www.4kidsofsfl.org and help provide hope for kids in crisis. |
