A few years ago we were privileged with the opportunity to live in Peru, South America for one year while volunteering as Christian missionaries. After returning to the United States it was hard for us to settle back down into the life that we had formerly known before our trip. The images of children living on the streets, in trash fills, without any food, water, or shelter haunted us as we tried to re-acclimate to the North American lifestyle. The suffering, disease, and extreme poverty that we witnessed in Peru left a permanent impact on our hearts. We were not content to sit back and live a life of luxury while ignoring the heart wrenching fact that there were millions around the world on the brink of starvation. We wanted to continue to make a difference in the lives of the people whom we had worked with in Peru, but how?

After much consideration and prayer we decided to start the adoption process with the hopes of adopting a child from Peru. It’s been over a year and a half since we started the process and we are very grateful to be able to write and tell you that we are currently on the waiting list to bring our child home. The process has been very challenging at times but God has been faithful and we trust that He will continue to see us thru.
